PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil — Uruguay striker Luis Suárez is becoming a member of Gremio, the Brazilian club claimed Saturday.
The 35-12 months-old Suárez was a free agent right after he still left his boyhood club Nacional prior to the Earth Cup in Qatar. Brazilian media studies reported Suárez signed a two-yr deal with Gremio.
“One of the major in Uruguay’s history, Luis Suarez is coming to continue on his victorious trajectory,” Gremio stated on social media. “A major goal scorer, a many winner, and a fighter. Welcome, Luisito.”
Suárez, who played for Ajax, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, confirmed the offer.
“I wanted to thank you for all the enjoy I have received,” Suárez claimed in a video clip posted on social media. “We will satisfy soon.”
Gremio returned to Brazil’s Serie A soon after a single year in the second division.
